Big game show held at Rockingham Fair Grounds

HARRISONBURG - The Greater Virginia Sports and Big Game Show kicks off this weekend, Feb. 15-17, at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg. Headlining this year's show is Brenda Valentine, host of "Bass Pro Shops' Outdoor World," Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo, hosts of The Outdoor Channel's "Archers' Choice," bowmaster Frank Addington Jr, Virginia Turkey Hunter and Primos Prostaff member Freddy McGuire, Mark Kilby from the Luray Zoo and many more.

From traditional Native American dance and taxidermy exhibits, to children's activities, rock climbing wall, indoor ATV track, an extreme events pavilion and a large hunting and fishing outfitters area, the 2008 Greater Virginia Sports and Big Game Show will transform the fairgrounds into the Mid- Atlantic's premier outdoor enthusiast's event.

The show has attracted an impressive list of national and regional sponsors, including Budweiser, Target, Dick's Sporting Goods, First Bank, Sportsmen's Warehouse, Charlie O'Baugh Pontiac Buick GMC, Key Real Estate, Rockingham Co-op and Blue Ridge Power Sports.

In addition, the 2008 Virginia State Turkey Calling Championship and North American Open Competitions, Elk Calling Competition, and The Shenandoah Valley Buckmasters 2008 Big Buck Contest will be held during the show, with thousands of dollars in prizes to be awarded.
