Highland Medical Center hires new CEO
MONTEREY - The board of directors of Highland Medical Center has announced Dr. D. Bradley Drawbaugh has been hired as the center's new chief executive officer.
He arrived last Tuesday, and immediately stepped into the position. He has a doctorate in health services administration and two master's degrees in business administration/human services and in community psychology. With more than 20 years of experience, he has served as a senior executive for national healthcare systems across the full continuum of care. He has worked in both the non-profit and for-profit healthcare sectors. For several years, he has served as a consultant with established expertise in turning around struggling hospitals, as well as start-up of new health services.
Drawbaugh is also a healthcare expert CEO panel member for a leading global investment, stock trading and brokerage firm. He will be joined shortly by his wife, Cindy Sue, who is a nurse. They come to us from the Chicago area. They have four grown children.
Drawbaugh said, "With deep humility, I accept Highland Medical Center's offer of employment as the chief executive officer. I appreciate the confidence and trust that the center's board has expressed in its decision and thoughtful deliberations. Highland County can be proud of the tremendous and significant contributions that several individuals have made to establishing this vital service to all citizens of Highland County and surrounding areas. For over a decade, HMC has provided for the primary health needs, rising to meet the challenges of providing access to affordable quality health services. I accept the appointment and the responsibility entrusted to me in providing new leadership that will help ensure stability and a bright future for Highland Medical Center in fulfillment of its vital mission of service and caring to all."
Area residents are urged to join the board and staff of HMC in Drawbaugh and his wife at a reception in their honor at the Highland Medical Center on Friday, Feb. 29 between 4:30 and 6 p.m.
