$425,000 donated to youth programs

STAUNTON- Farm Credit of the Virginias supports a variety of youth programs with agricultural ties, like Future Farmers of America and 4-H. This week they announced that, along with the 22 other agricultural credit associations in the 15 eastern states which comprise the AgFirst Farm Credit district, they have donated more than $425,000 to 4-H and FFA during 2007.

From college scholarships and livestock purchases, to camp sponsorships and donations for building construction, the ACAs have an ongoing commitment to the education and youth leadership programs provided by 4-H and FFA.

"We are proud to be part of the future of agriculture in the United States, and we will continue to contribute to the efforts of these youth organizations whose prosperity directly affects our rural communities," said CEO Dave Lawrence.
