Club holds 'show and tell'

Sue Robinson (left) explains her "Show & Tell" creation to Diane Klein at the Monterey Garden Club's February meeting.
MONTEREY - The Monterey Garden Club met Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the Mountain View Room of the Highland County Public Library. Rhet Wilson was hostess and Sue Robinson was in charge of devotions.

Most members attending brought an object to discuss for the annual "Show and Tell" program. The 2008 house and garden tour chairman, Lisa Munchel, led a discussion on the upcoming event that will take place on Saturday, July 12.

The theme for this year's tour is "A Splendid Day in the McDowell Valley." A number of McDowell area homeowners have agreed to participate in the tour. Anyone interested in opening his or her home and/or garden should contact Munchel at 468-3507.

On March 4, the club will take a field trip to Sunspots Glassblowing in Staunton. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the club should contact the president, Susan Blanchard, at 468-2175 or any club member.
