Workshop focuses on healthy watershed landscaping
CLIFTON FORGE - On Wednesday, March 5, a panel of local experts will discuss landscaping for a healthy watershed at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. This is the second part of a four-part Watershed Workshop Series hosted by the Cowpasture River Preservation Association.
Speakers from the Virginia Native Plant Society, the Foundation for Virginia's Natural Resources, Boxerwood Gardens and the Natural Resources Conservation Service will be presenting information on native and invasive plants, watershed friendly lawn care, rain gardens and riparian buffers.
This free workshop is from 6:30-9 p.m. in the DSLCC Armory/ Convocation Center in Clifton Forge. Participants are asked to register one week in advance through the DSLCC non-credit program by contacting Judy Clark at (540) 863-2863 or jclark@dslcc.edu.
Participants may also pre-register for either or both of the two remaining workshops, Rain Barrel Making on April 2, and River and Stream Citizen Monitoring on May.
This program is made possible, in part, by funding from both the Rockbridge Area Community Foundation and the Virginia Hot Springs Preservation Trust.
