HOT SPRINGS - Young bluegrass sensations, The Wright Kids, will perform again at the sixth annual Bath Bluegrass Jamboree on Saturday, March 29, at Bath County High School. The jamboree is from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Wright Kids are Mason, age 18; Sage, 11; Baruch, eight; and Levi, five. They hail from Rocky Mount, and despite their ages, they have years of experience.

Both Mason and Sage play in the Roanoke Youth Symphony Orchestra. Baruc joined his older siblings on stage by the time he was three. Even little Levi has played nearly as long as he's been alive.

The Wright Kids' shows are filled with energy and their performance at the jamboree is sure to entertain.

High Ground makesits first appearance at the jamboree this year. The group members, all from the Shenandoah Valley, are Larry Taylor, Rick Altis, Jimmy Almarode and Bryan Plemmons. Each member has played with well-known bluegrass bands including the Cabin Fever Band and Heather Berry and the Berry Pickers. They've also played with Donna Hughes and Jimmy Fortune, a former member of the Statler Brothers.

Also performing are the Locust Mountain Boys of Roanoke. The members are accomplished musicans and have won numerous awards both individually and as a group. The Locust Mountain Boys are Steve Carper Jr., his son Jesse, Jeff Downey, Stephen Young and Jerry Wood.

This will be their first appearance at the jamboree and they look forward to it, promising to "play bluegrass like your pappy played."

The host band, 220 South, is from Hot Springs and is a hometown favorite. They have hosted and helped organize the jamboree since it began.
