This view from a resort is one of the sights 4-H'ers can see during a trip Bath/Highland 4-H extension is planning this summer to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. 4-H'ers will learn and practice speaking Spanish, try tropical foods, work with Dominican teen partners, conduct environmental day camp activities for elementary school students, swim at the beach, visit the city of Higuey, snorkel over a coral reef, and participate in service projects. The trip is planned for eight days and seven nights in the Caribbean Islands July 22-29. It includes airfare, accommodations, three meals a day at the Punta Cana Biodiversity Center and the resort, insurance, transportation, a field trip to the city of Higuey, and snorkeling. For information, contact Bath/Highland 4-H Extension Agent Christine Hodges at (540-839-7261 or 540-468-2225) or email chodges1@vt.edu. Participants must register and make a first payment by April 15.
