New deputy hired in Bath
HOT SPRINGS - Sherif f Larry Norfleet announces the appointment of Roberta L. Lane as a deputy sheriff for Bath County. Lane commenced duties on Feb. 15 as a secretary and dispatcher.
Lane is a native of Bath County and graduated from Bath County High School in 1990. She is currently enrolled in business management and administration of justice classes at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, in Clifton Forge.
She currently resides in Warm Springs with her 17- year-old daughter and a stepson. Lane brings a great deal of experience to the sheriff's office, having worked for several state agencies, Norfleet said.
Lane said, "It is a pleasure to be part of the Bath County Sheriff's Office."
