FFA member spotlight: Samuel Ellington - By Jessie Siron, reporting for the Highland County FFA
MONTEREY - Samuel Ellington is the son of Ske and Debora Ellington who reside in Forks of the Water (Blue Grass). He is a 16 year old junior at Highland High School and has been a member of the Future Farmers of America for six years. Ellington is currently the Student Advisor for the chapter.
He was asked the following questions about his FFA experience.
What makes the chapter
unique?
Our chapter is unique in many ways. We always have loads of fun on trips. It is also special because we help the community. Another thing that makes it unique is our newest tradition of selling milkshakes.
What is your favorite FFA
activity? and why?
My favorite activity is agricultural fabrication class because I get to work with my hands and do what I love.
What have you learned through your FFA experience?
Throughout my FFA experience, I have learned to be kind, helpful and especially thoughtful to our community.
What Career Development
Events do you participate in?
I participate in many CDE's. My favorite CDE's would be livestock judging and cattle working. What is your Supervised
Agricultural Experience?
My SAE is lawn care and management.
What has been the highlight
of your FFA career?
The highlight of my FFA career would be having all the fun trips that we go on, helping the community with Relay for Life and helping fellow farmers.
What are your plans after
high school?
After graduating high school next year I plan to attend a technical school for restoration and paint graphics.
