In Brief . . . Highland County Board of Supervisors ¦ The board of supervisors Monday night appointed Bud Cook to the Highland County Planning Commission, to fill a vacancy left by Crysta Stanton late last year. "The decision boiled down to experience and qualification," said supervisor Robin Sullenberger. Cook is a retired engineer. ¦ The board held a closed session to discuss threatened litigation concerning four horses impounded by the county. After closed session, the board directed county attorney Melissa Dowd to obtain veterinarian services (routine shots, etc.) for the horses that had been awarded to the county by the general district court judge through impoundment.
