FFA member spot light By Jessie Siron, reporting for the Highland County FFA
 | | Chance Massey |
| MONTEREY- Chance Massey, the son of Darren and Sandy Massey of Monterey, is a 16-year-old sophomore at Highland High School. Massey is the chaplain of Highland's Future Farmers of America and has been a member for two years. He shared the following about his FFA experience.
What makes the chapter
unique?
Our chapter is unique because of the quality of its members. We have very dedicated members who are always eager to get involved with FFA activities.
What have you learned
through your FFA
experience?
I've learned that teamwork is a must. Honestly, a lot of things we do couldn't be done if just one or two people are working on it. It takes all 10 officers, our FFA advisor and all of the other dedicated members to pull off something great.
What Career Development Events do you participate
in?
As of right now, I participate in only one CDE which is poultry judging.
What is your Supervised
Agricultural Experience?
My SAE is wildlife production and management, where I am trapping with the help of my dad. I have been working on this SAE for about a year now.
What has been the
highlight of your FFA
career?
The highlight of my FFA career would be becoming the first chaplain in the Highland FFA Chapter. It has been an honor to take on that office.
What motivational quote
do you strive to live by?
My motivational quote is actually a scripture that my dad shared with me. It is Psalm 37:5, which says ,"Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will act."
