Small Steps to Health & Wealth class to be held

MONTEREY- Have you thought about making changes in your life? Typically, these changes are made separately, such as "lose 10 pounds" and "save $1,000." Small Steps to Health and Wealth™ is a program that offers a better way to make changes: work on health and financial behavior changes together and use the same methods to improve both aspects of life. A Small Steps to Health & Wealth class will be held at the Highland County library on April 21, from 7-9 p.m. The cost includes a workbook and light refreshments. The book includes a discussion of similarities between health and personal finances and 25 behavior change strategies, all based upon empirical research and expert recommendations. It concludes with a planning worksheet for readers to use to set personal goals and action plans and a list of online health and personal finance resources.

Presenters for the class will be Cristin Sprenger and Stephanie Diehl, both family and consumer sciences extension agents with Virginia Cooperative Extension. Registration is required. Call the Highland County Extension officeat (540) 468-2225. Registration deadline is April 18.
