An open house and ribbon cutting is planned this Saturday, April 12, from 2-5 p.m., at Allegheny Mountain Radio's station in Warm Springs behind the high school. A ribbon-cutting with the Bath County Chamber of Commerce will be held at 3 p.m. for the recently completed building addition and renovation. Free hot dogs, beverages and snacks will be provided, as well as music by the '50s Plus Trio. It's also an opportunity to meet some of the station's volunteer DJs.
n An open house is also planned at Camp Mont Shenandoah this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The site is located on Mount Shenandoah Lane off Route 42 in Millboro Springs. n Friday, April 18, marks the annual Earth Day celebration for area elementary and middle school students at Douthat State Park. The day will be filled with environmental programs and projects to spruce up the park site. n We're all invited to participate in the seventh annual county wide spring clean-up on Saturday, April 19. The event is sponsored by the Bath County Chamber of Commerce to collect garbage that mars the roadsides along local scenic highways and byways. Trash bags and vests are available now at the chamber officein Hot Springs or can be picked up on April 19 at Millboro Mercantile Grocery, as well as at the visitor center gazebo in Warm Springs. Bags with collected litter should be left along the roadside for the state's Department of Transportation crews to pick them up. n Sign-up is continuing for the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Bath County, which will be held on Saturday, May 24, at Millboro Elementary School, beginning at noon. Olivia Haney is chairing the event this year; call (540) 997-9135 to participate.
