Business Appreciation Week to be held May 16
Coordinated each year by the Virginia Department of Business Assistance, Business Appreciation Week has been scheduled for May 11-17 with this year's theme "The State of Small Business."
Events will take place throughout the commonwealth to recognize the many Virginia businesses that contribute to economic growth and quality of life. For the sixth consecutive year, The Highland Center will celebrate Business Appreciation Week by bringing together Highland and Bath counties to honor local businesses. The annual Bath/Highland Business Appreciation Dinner will happen at The Highland Center in Monterey on May 16 at 7 p.m.
Last year, "Business of the Year" awards were presented to the Highland Telephone Cooperative in Monterey and Country Cafe in Bath County. Community service awards went to Highland Rescue Squad and Mike Spurgeon of Hot Springs.
Nominees for this year's awards will be announced in coming weeks.
