On the agenda
The following dates have been approved as revised for budget work of the Bath supervisors and school board.
¦ Thursday, April 17 - 7 p.m., supervisors conduct public hearing on school budget, room 115 of the courthouse. Meeting must be continued to Thursday, April 24 for action.
¦ Thursday, April 24 - 7 p.m., supervisors meet in room 115 of the Bath County Courthouse in continue ds consider adoption of the school board budget.
¦ Tuesday, April 29 - 6 p.m., district court room, work session on the county budget by supervisors with the county administrator. If ready to proceed, supervisors consider and authorize public hearing ads for the county budget and the county tax levies. Separate hearings are required - one for the budget and one for the tax levies.
Supervisors also consider another revenue source through a business license tax, and there may be interest in a decal fee (as opposed to a decal). Should ordinance changes be required for that if the board wishes to go forward, public hearings will also be established for the ordinance changes required to establish a business license tax or other fee.
Tuesday, May 13 - Regular board meeting at 7 p.m. If the board wishes, it could take action at this meeting to approve the various ads and public hearings required for the 2008-09 budget.
¦ Thursday, June 12 - 7 p.m., supervisors meet in Room 115 of the Bath County Courthouse in continued session to consider adoption of the county budget and the county tax levies for FY 2008-09, and any other ordinance changes required. Following board approvals, funding appropriations may be considered.
