The 50-Plus trio entertained at the WCHS Open House Sunday afternoon, delighting visitors with old standards, and even inviting a singalong. From left are Joanne Woodzell, mandolin; Faye Cauley, guitar; Jackie Plecker, vocals; and Willy Smith, who assisted the ladies with his renowned bass playing. Each of the ladies has been married for more than 50 years, hence the name. (Recorder photo by Margo Oxendine)
On Saturday, April 12, WCHG in Hot Springs opened its doors to the public to view the new addition and witness the ribbon cutting with the Bath Chamber of Commerce. The open house was well attended and besides the ribbon cutting and delicious treats, all were treated to a musical interlude by the 50-Plus Trio. Pictured during the ribbon cutting ceremony (front row, l-r) are: Willie Smith (DJ Willie), Elaine Brown - VISTA volunteer, Bonnie Gills - station coordinator, John Hart, Faye Cauley, JoAnne Woodzell, Catherine VanFossen; (second row): Bonnie Johnson, Pete Pitard, Hugh Gwin, Jackie Plecker, Pete Minetree, Melinda Nichols.
