Thurston, the Boston Terrier, watches the action from the window of Design @ Nine, a "She Salon," at 9 E. Beverley Street. Thurston is one of many shop dogs in the downtown area. "Staunton is a very dog-friendly town," says shopowner Rosemary Brady.
Bill Bonner, a Bath County native, owns the Beverley Street shop "Botanica," with partner Joe Evola. The shop is filled with wonderful gifts, including ornaments, fragrant soaps, lotions and candles, and a fun line of "personality" rubber duckies. Rosemary Brady has owned The Golden Tub on Beverley Street for more than two decades. It's the perfect place to findall sorts of necessary and decorative items for the bath, toiletries, and an adorable line of collectible dogs with realistic "fur."
