Downer promoted to senior lending officer-Virginia at FNB

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. - First National Bank has announced the promotion of Dawn C. Downer to senior lending officer-Virginia. Downer is a lifetime native of the Highlands and resides in Alleghany County with her husband Michael and daughter Faith. She has been in the banking industry for 24 years spending the past three years as commercial lending officer at FNB. She has been with FNB since 2004.

Formerly she was assistant vice president, business banker for BB&T. Prior to that she also worked as assistant vice president/ loans for the State Bank of the Alleghenies and F&M National Corporation.

She received her diploma from the American Institute of Banking School of Consumer and Commercial Lending and attended Dabney S. Lancaster Community College where she received a certificate of banking. She is certified in residential construction lending a and specializes in business loans as well as consumer lending.

Downer has been an active member of her community, previously participating in the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Business and Professional Women's Club, and is a member of Mallow Presbyterian Church.

Regarding her promotion, Downer states "I am pleased to offer our customers the excellent service to which they have become accustomed, and I am available to meet with anyone to discuss the financial options which best suit their needs. It is such personal satisfaction to be part of a new loan, promote business growth, and contribute to the community."

According to FNB president, Benny A. Williams Jr., "I have worked with Dawn at various financial institutions for more than 23 years. Dawn's years of banking experience go hand-in-hand with her understanding of our customer's needs. She is an asset to both the bank and the Highlands." FNB has Virginia officesin Covington and Hot Springs and West Virginia officesin Ronceverte, Lewisburg and White Sulphur Springs and is celebrating 120 years as a community bank.
