Leona Maude Hiner

MOUNTAIN GROVE - Leona Maude Hiner, 80, of 183 Gatwood Drive, Mountain Grove, died Friday, May 2, 2008 at The Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs.

She was born Feb. 8, 1928 in Mountain Grove, the daughter of the late William Clyde Hiner and Lella Maude Sheets Hiner.

She was retired after more than 40 years of service with the Bath County Health Department. Mrs. Hiner was a member of the Mountain Grove United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a sister, Madge May and husband Carl, of Mountain Grove; 10 nieces and nephews, Debbie Rinaldi of Wisconsin, Lynette Anderson and Teresa Neal both of West Virginia, Libby Hiner of Virginia, Richard Faulknier of West Virginia, Andrew Hiner of South Carolina, Bill Hiner and LaDonna Dillenbeck both of Virginia, Charlie Hiner of Maryland and Carol Childers of West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hunter Hiner and Bill Hiner; and a sister, Wilma Faulknier.

A funeral service was conducted at 11a.m., Tuesday, May 6, at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Shields and the Rev. Darrell Hiner officiating. Interment was in Mountain Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her nephews, Mike Anderson, Richard Faulknier, Andrew Hiner, Bill Hiner and Charlie Hiner; and her great nephews, Jonathan Dillenbeck and Joseph Dillenbeck.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain Grove Cemetery.
