| WARM SPRINGS - Dr. Margaret Blount was arrested last week, and charged with one felony count of uttering a forged medical malpractice insurance certificate. Blount, 46, turned herself in to Virginia State Police Investigator Allen Brown Monday, June 23. She was released on a personal recognizance bond.
Brown told The Recorder this week that he could provide no more information at this time because the investigation is ongoing.
Blount has a medical practice with offices at Bath Community Hospital. She was indicted by a Bath County grand jury Monday, June 16.
The grand jury handed down 32 indictments against eight people that day. Two, including Blount, had been arrested and charged by press time this week.
Corey Hickman of Bath County was arrested June 19 on seven charges: Four of felony grand larceny - stealing money and/or property valued at $200 or more; and three of misdemeanor petty larceny - stealing property or money valued at less than $200. According to Capt. Richard Armstrong of the Bath County Sheriff's Office, these charges originated at The Homestead, where wallets were stolen from the spa area.
