Ghosts of Music City USA at Lime Kiln Friday

LEXINTONG - Theater at Lime Kiln's original country music revue, The Ghosts of Music City USA, opens this Friday, July 11 in The Bowl at 7:30 p.m.

Ghosts, which replaced Honky Tonk Angel on the Lime Kiln schedule, showcases the talents of most of the cast from the musical chosen to re-establish Lime Kiln as a producing company. "Everyone taking part in the play is disappointed that we could not perform what was scheduled," said Kim Renz, executive director, "but the cast banded together to create a brand new show. And from what I have seen and heard, it will be dynamite."

Renz continued, "Lime Kiln is best known for producing the original work Stonewall Country, so replacing one premier with another just made sense. The cast is really excited about this show."

Highlights from The Ghosts of Music City USA include Marla Palma performing "Crazy," "Walkin' After Midnight" and "I Fall to Pieces," and Brian Blickle singing "Blue Moon of Kentucky," Hound Dog," and "Sixteen Tons." George Leonard puts his spin on "Welcome to My World" and "The Tennessee Waltz."

There will also be special guest appearances by some country characters. When asked who, Renz replied, "I'll leave it to your imagination. Suffice it to say some local characters will remind us of country comedians we all know and love."

Gate and concessions open at 6:30 p.m. Burgers and dogs are featured from the grill. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Theater at Lime Kiln office at 540-463-7088. Children 6 and under are admitted free of charge.
