      CHURCHVILLE - James Cleveland "Jimmy" May, 72, husband of Ruth Ellen Campbell May, of Churchville and formerly of Craigsville, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. He was born Sept. 3, 1935, in Hot Springs, a son of the late Dennis Worth May and Iona Verlis Alderman May.

Bolar Loop hike an easy escape
      LAKE MOOMAW - From the Two Islands Overlook, the sky, water, and lush green landscape blend together like a paint sample. Echoes from swimmers and boats climb to the quiet bench high above, telling on the merrymakers. Only a mile from the picnic area at Lake Moomaw, and accessible by a cut road, a hike to the overlook is great way to kill a couple of hours at the lake.

Stephenson Jr., Commonwealth's Attorney of Bath County since 1919, and member of a prominent Virginia family, died at his ancestral home, "The Chimneys," Sunday morning, of cerebral hemorrhage.
