Debit-card larceny charged
WARM SPRINGS - Bath sheriff's deputies have made yet another arrest related to grand jury indictments returned June 16.
Brandon Mikel Phillips, 32, was arrested Monday in Rockbridge County. He is charged with four felony counts of grand larceny, and will be arraigned in Bath Circuit Court Friday, July 25.
According to Bath Sheriff Larry Norfleet, Phillips allegedly used a woman's debit card to withdraw more than $200 on four occasions. Norfleet also said Phillips is wanted by West Virginia authorities for a parole violation. He had been on five-year probation for an unspecified conviction. When the sheriff's office notified West Virginia authorities of Phillips's pending charges, his parole was revoked. The parole violation carries a minimum $5,000 bond. Phillips, of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., is incarcerated in Alleghany Regional Jail.
