By Gina Hamilton
n The Millboro Christian
Church will conduct Vacation
Bible School the week of July
21-25, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., for
children from pre-school to sixth
grade. The closing service will be
Sunday night, July 27, at 6:30 p.m.
During Vacation Bible School,
the children will be taught a Bible
lesson and participate in music
and crafts which will reinforce the
lesson learned each evening. There
will also be a time of refreshment
each night.
n Information about the Bath
County Farmers' Market is now
available online, www.bacofarmmkt.
com, thanks to the work of
Joy George, a former English
teacher at Millboro Elementary
School. It provides information
about vendors, healthy eating, and
updates on what's available. Market
organizers are also planning a
special event on Saturday, Aug. 9,
in conjunction with National Farmers
Market Week that will include
craftspeople and environmental
groups in addition to current vendors.
The market continues every
Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon on the
porch at Lickety Splits restaurant
near the corner of Routes 39 West
and 42 in Millboro Springs. Vendors
bring fresh produce, cheese,
breads, herbs, homemade jams and
jellies, and personal care items.
Guitarist/singer Tom Hoover and
other musicians enhance the social
ambience with their performances.
