| DUNMORE, W.Va.— Following the trend of their previous pre-district action the Highland Rams took the Pocahontas Warriors to the ropes but lost the tiebreaking set in both games of a double header, 15-25, 29-27,16-14, and 19-25, 25-15, 15-10, last Thursday afternoon.
"We've only had one game where we haven't taken them (the opposition) to the max," said Ram coach Margie Swanger.
In the first match the Rams won the tightly contested second game behind the nine service points each by Caiti Lotts and Emily Wagner. Sarah Bradley served the final two to win the set.
Highland played tough in the tiebreaker to force an extra point but Pocahontas rallied to close the game.
The second match saw the Rams climb back into the contest after taking the second set again However, the Highland comeback fell short and the Warriors regained the momentum and swept the doubleheader.
The Rams played Bath Tuesday (see related story) and head over the mountain to play Ridgeview Christian tonight (Thursday). Highland stays on the road for a while and continues district play at Covington Tuesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
