Pattie Elizabeth Gaylor

WILMINGTON, Del. — Pattie Elizabeth Gaylor, 99, of Wilmington, formerly of Hot Springs, Va., died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at the Manor Care in Wilmington.

Mrs. Gaylor was born Nov. 2, 1909 in Alleghany County, Virginia, the daughter of the late George Washington Andrews and Bertha Alice Myers Andrews. She was married to the late Ardon Elwood Gaylor, who preceded her in death in 2000. She was retired from M.H. Fishman Co. in Covington, Va. She was an active member of Emory United Methodist Church where she also served as the treasurer of the United Methodist Women's Club.

She is survived by a daughter, June Pesikey and her husband Tom of Wilmington; three granddaughters, Sharon Hayman of Philadelphia, Pa., Karen Morneau and her husband, John, of Wilton, Conn., and Lisa Turco and her husband, Peter, of Ridgefield, Conn.; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Connor and Jake Morneau of Wilton, Conn.; two nieces, Pat Stinnett and her husband, Charles, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Sue Deaner who cared for her when she lived in Hot Springs; three nephews, G.C. and Robert Bowyer and their wives of Greenwood, S.C., and Richard Bowyer and his wife of Covington, Va.; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Andrews; and two sisters, Margarette Fry and Catherine Bowyer.

A funeral service will be conducted at11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at Emory United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 14, from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m at McLaughlin and Young Funeral Home, or anytime at the home of Sue Deaner.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Haze Williams, Billy Williams, Ray Williams, Robert Bowyer, Richard Bowyer, Gene Breeden, Charles Breeden and Bobby Phillips.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Emory Methodist Church, c/o Nancy Helmintoller, 215 Sycamore Bend Lane, Hot Springs, Va. 24445 or Marshallton Methodist Church Elevator Fund, 1105 Stanton Road, Wilmington, Del. 19808.
