      Jessica Young MARS HILL, N.C. - Jessica Leigh Young of Hot Springs, Va., was named on the honor roll of the academic dean at the end of the fall 2008 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 on a minimum of 12 semester hours, and carry no grade below a C.

Students participate in inaugural parade
      LEXINGTON — Five area students got the honor of marching in the inaugural parade in Washington, D.C. this week. Neal N. Anderson II of Hot Springs, Joshua S. Bryan of Clifton Forge, Richard E. Lee Jr. of Covington, William R. Orndorff III of Clifton Forge, and Randy O. Phillips of Covington all marched as cadets for Virginia Military Institute.
