Reader questions developer's statements about wind plan
      Editor, The Recorder, A few questions on the article, "Wind sites on the way," April 9, in The Recorder. I read this article and at the end, I could not understand the finality of what Mr. John Flora was trying to say. From one paragraph to a following paragraph, he states and uses different words that seem contradictory.

SPCA needs help from supporters on web sites
      Editor, The Recorder We at The Highland SPCA are dedicated to two propositions about animals: 1) that they are God's perfect brush strokes, and 2) that they often tend to get a very raw deal. To address these issues, a handful of animal devotees approached the county 13 years ago and offered to operate the animal pound.

Dogs deserve better than chains and pens all day
      Editor, The Recorder, Chained and penned dogs — As days turn to years, many dogs sit, lay, sleep, eat, and defecate within the same 10-foot radius. Chained by their neck, they exist without respect, love, exercise, social interaction, and sometimes even basic nourishment.
