Zane Page King
He was born Nov. 5, 1934 in Monterey, a son of the late Martin Ellis and Grace Page King. Mr. King had been owner and operator of the BZ Laundrymat. He was also previously employed by The Recorder in Monterey and the News Leader in Staunton. He was a member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife of 47 years, who died Oct. 19, 2001, he was also preceded in death by a son, Martin Z. King, in 1987. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy T. and Dawn King of Fishersville; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann P. and John Keller of Verona; a brother and sister-in-law, Darwin and Patsy King; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Ronnie White, all of Monterey; eight grandchildren, Jason, Heather, Amanda, Amie, Becky, Tyler, Kristen, and Alexis; and three great grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Matthew P. Fike, pastor of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Jason Sutton, George Hogshead, Carter Gibson, Ellis King, R.J. White, Pete White, and Wayne Marshall.
