Hot Rods heat up Cruise In
      MONTEREY — Sunglasses were a must last Saturday afternoon in Monterey as 46 glistening vehicles shone downtown in the second-annual Mountain Hideaway Relay for Life Cruise in. More than double the amount of entries last year gave passersby and auto enthusiasts plenty to fawn over.

Basketball league starting
      A competitive men's summer basketball league begins July 9, at Bath County High School. The league is open to ages 15-up and will conclude with an endthe of-season tournament July 31. There is a fee of $100 per team. Contact coach Dave Herscher at 540-997-5304 for more details.

      WARM SPRINGS —The defending Pioneer District Champion Volleyball squad holds a three-day camp for girls 13 and under Wednesday, July 15 through Friday July 17. The camp will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
