Scarecrows spark creativity
This fellow earned the Warm Springs Gallery an honorable HOT SPRINGS — Bath County Chamber of Commerce hosted its First Annual Scarecrow Spectacular last month.
Member businesses were offered the opportunity to compete against each other in a scarecrow building contest and 15 businesses took up the challenge: The Springs Nursing Center, the employees of the U.S. Forest Service, Vine Cottage Inn, First National Bank, First and Citizens Bank, The Gallery at Seven Oaks, The Nature Conservancy, The Bath County Historical Society, employees of the Bath County Courthouse, McGraw Minerals, The Warm Springs Gallery, Inn at Gristmill Square, Bath County Collision, BARC and Tender Heart Quilts.
Participants were encouraged to get creative, go green and have fun.
Goody baskets were presented to the winners on Friday, Oct. 30. Feedback from this event was amazing, and just about everyone that participated is already planning for next year
This darling at Tender Heart Quilts, with her quilted jacket, of course, took the prize for prettiest scarecrow. The Bath chamber of commerce hosted its First Annual Scarecrow Spectacular last month, and First and Citizens Bank took the prize for the funniest scarecrow — this lovely hippie couple decked out for a do and headed for Woodstock. Fifteen member businesses took up the challenge and their creativity was inspiring all over Bath County. (Photos courtesy Bath chamber of commerce) The witch at McGraw Minerals was deemed scariest scarecrow of them all. It's easy to see why Bath County Collission took the prize for most original. |
