     The Bath County lady Chargers added two more pieces of hardware to the BCHS trophy case last Thursday with a victory over Parry McCluer in the Pioneer District tournament. Wildcats steal out of Bath with win
      WARM SPRINGS — The Pendleton County Wildcats stopped the Bath County Chargers inches short on a fourth-downand four play with 49 seconds left to escape with an exciting 36-35 victory last Friday evening at Carl. F. Williams Field.

Billingsley, Persinger advance
      FINCASTLE — Bath Charger Matt Persinger and Highland Ram Hayley Billingsley advanced to the state cross country finals by placing sixth and eighth in the Region C finals at the Botetourt Sports Complex last Thursday. Persinger's finish was the best-ever for a Charger and comes in his first year in the sport as a junior.

Bath to open Region v. Wave
      Although the Bath County Charger football team lost a heartbreaker last week against the Pendleton County Wildcats, there is no sign the gridiron squad has lost heart. It would have been easy to start mailing in the effort after two quick mistakes gave the Wildcats a 14-0 advantage to start the second quarter last Friday.

      HOT SPRINGS — Floyd Flannagan and Melvin Ryder nipped Oliver Richards and Bart Ailstock in a playoff to win the Joey Ryder Memorial Golf Tournament last Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Homestead's renowned Cascades Course. A. Keene Byrd was honored as the 2009 Caddy of the Year.
