Clarification

Highland County Volunteer Rescue Squad president Beth Armstrong clarified several points made in last week's article on the proposed rescue squad expansion, and the group's request for county property that could accommodate a new building. At the work session, Armstrong said, "We've raised funds for future expansion for us. I won't say it's a whole lot." And, "We had a fundraiser over a year ago and secured sufficient funds to start on something." Armstrong emphasized this week that the squad does not have enough money for its project yet, and it may take a few years to raise enough.
