Residents asked to be on lookout

COVINGTON – The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a man suspected in the murder of his wife.

A warrant has been issued for Rosendo “Manuel” Rodriguez, 29.

A body believed to be that of his wife, Ashley Kimberlin Rodriguez, 24, was found early Tuesday behind the office of Alleghany Memorial Park. She had been shot in the face; positive identification is still pending.

Rodriguez is a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs 148 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. He could be driving a 2001 Ford F-150 extended-cab truck, green with gold trim on the bottom.

Rodriguez has family in the Charlotte, N.C., area.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Rodriguez is asked to call the Virginia State Police, 1-800-542-5959, or the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, 1-540-962-1770.

The U.S. Marshal Service is also assisting in the search.
