This photo by Tal McBride of Highland New Wind Development was submitted to county administrator Roberta Lambert to indicate additional fencing or screening for the proposed facility substation may not be needed. Lambert said she couldn't tell whether the existing trees would screen the substation from view, which is a requirement of HNWD's conditional use permit. Looking east from U.S. 250 toward Red Oak Knob's entrance, the substation would be located just over the rise behind the trees (straight up from the fenced area in this photo). Parts of the substation may be 20 feet high.
