Kiera Lowman wins fifth state title Saturday at Liberty

Alleghany sophomore Kiera Lowman won the 3,200 meters in wire-to-wire fashion Saturday at Liberty University. The state title was her fifth — four individual crowns and a team state cross country championship.

LYNCHBURG — Kiera Lowman took the lead at the gun Saturday morning.

She never gave it up.

The Alleghany sophomore won the fifth state title of her young career, winning the 3,200-meter run by nearly 20 seconds at the Class 3 state championship meet at Liberty University.
