MOUNTAIN GROVE — The Bath County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources with a search for a missing man on Allegheny Mountain.
According to emergency communications traffic and online resources, the search began Saturday for 40-year-old Kevin O’Meara of Maine after his truck was located on Forest Road 55 in Bath County near the West Virginia border.
The web site, www.findkevinomeara.com, says O’Meara has been missing from Mercer, Maine since Oct. 4, and that he does not have his cell phone.
O’Meara is a white male, six-foot-one, 155 pounds, light green eyes and has a star moon tattoo on his right arm.
The web site is also asking for volunteers for the search. Those wanting to volunteer must contact the Bath County Sheriff’s Office at 839-2375 and must check in at the Mountain Grove Community Center.
The search effort began accepting volunteers Monday morning.
