Easten half of Highland still powerless

Recorder editor John Bruce found a BARC crew along the Doe Hill Road today. From what Bruce learned, many residents in the eastern half of Highland County are still without power. There are areas with broken poles that cannot be restored until new poles are brought in. For example, a line along Seldom Seen Road was to have new poles installed and service restored, but it might be tomorrow (Saturday) before new ones arrive. BARC serves Doe Hill, Head Waters, Williamsville area of Highland and Bath, and just about everything in the eastern end of Highland outside a roughly two-mile radius of McDowell. Most of the work involved now is re-stringing these poles.
