MONTEREY — We’ve got the following update on homecoming and basketball games for Highland County Public Schools:

• Tonight’s home game against Covington has been cancelled, and moved to Thursday, Feb. 7.

• Saturday’s games away at Grace Christian for varsity girls and boys, and middle school girls, are still on. Players should arrive in time to catch the bus from school, which leaves at 10:30 a.m.

• Saturday’s homecoming dance is still on, beginning at 8 p.m. The homecoming court will be announced that night.

• Sunday — Take a break and watch the Superbowl.

• Monday, Feb. 4 — practices scheduled.

• Tuesday, Feb. 5 — Varsity girls and boys play a home game against Parry McCluer. This will now be Parents’ Night and Senior Night.

• Wednesday, Feb. 6 — Middle school girls and boys play Green Bank at home; varsity boys play Bath County at home.

• Thursday, Feb. 7 — Varsity plays the rescheduled home game against Covington.

That’s three games in a row next week — let’s cheer ‘em on! And hope the weather holds long enough to wrap up the season.
